Yes, Ala. was often driven through, such as, from Memphis to Atlanta, without even a piss being taken or a Moonpie being purchased by the band. As I mentioned in a different thread the May Tuscaloosa show from 1977 is a keeper that is often overlooked.

Later this week, I hope to re-listen to the '78 Birmingham show. I will share my thoughts, if any, afterwards.

Birmingham '78?
I didn't know!
I was lad in B'ham in 1978. Didn't see the band until '81.
I might have blown a fuse seeing them in '78, but then again, that would not necessarily have been a bad thing. I think my parents would have blown a fuse (not in a good way) if I had seen them then.

I'll consider that required listening when I get a chance.

I saw Jimmy Buffet at Boutwell once. People tell me he's an ass in real life. Some really good folks have also played there back in the history making days. I would like to have seen the Dead there in '80, but things were such that I passed on the opportunity to go from Atlanta to see them in '95.
I won't be listening to those.

I think I'm turning into one of those guys with a 1980 cut off date.

I was at both the '95 shows. I think if you put them together then cut away the scraps you come up with a decent show. Will it make the Prime Minister throw his '68 box set into a local blast furnace---prollynot.

But, are the shows the cardboard pieces of crap that the reviewers spout: NO. Most of the comments lack any substance: "95 sucks and this is 95." Hmmm... Thanks for the input, buddy.
